Uzbekistán. Novelista, guionista, dramaturga. Tiene publicadas las colecciones de cuentos Farida, A Woman Seeking for Herself, The Heart’s Angel y 9/1; y las novelas The Adventures of a Wanderer, y la muy premiada An Empire of Mystery. Su historia, "A Woman in the Sunset" fue llevada al cine. Dirigó el documental A White Dress.
